DESCRIPTION:<p>Following the great success of the first Understanding Value conference\, we once again invite the submission of abstracts for Sheffield University&rsquo\;s second graduate conference on the theme of value.&nbsp\; A great many areas of philosophy are concerned with questions about value.&nbsp\; From the areas traditionally conceived as a part of &lsquo\;value theory&rsquo\; &ndash\; ethics\, meta-ethics\, aesthetics\, social and political philosophy &ndash\; to epistemology\, metaphysics and philosophy of language\, mind and psychology\, there is a need to understand what value is\, what it does and how it can best be conceived of.&nbsp\;To this end\, we invite submissions of&nbsp\;high quality&nbsp\;abstracts of 500-1000 words from graduate students with an interest in value\, broadly construed. We welcome papers taking an analytic\, continental\, historical or cross-disciplinary approach to any of the many problems surrounding value\, from graduate students working in any area of philosophy.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>We welcome papers from graduate students\, or those who have submitted a PhD in the last two years.
