The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has put numerous philosophy conferences on hold and prevented many graduate students from showcasing their current projects. This workshop aims to provide graduate students with an online platform to present their works in progress and receive feedback from other graduate students working on related issues.
\nThe workshop meetings will take place in July\, with the exact dates of each online session to be determined based on the availability and preferences of the presenters. The presenter&rsquo\;s papers will be pre-circulated before the meetings. Each session will start with a brief 20-minute presentation\, followed by a response by the primary responder and discussion with other participants.
\nTopic areas include race\, gender\, sexuality\, social justice movements\, feminist theory and feminist epistemology\, revolution\, human rights\, inclusive pedagogy\, philosophy of health and healthcare\, moral psychology\, meta-philosophic reflection on the discipline\, new takes on long-considered problems\, decolonizing the philosophical canon. This list is not meant to be exhaustive\, and we welcome submissions from any areas of philosophy that are underrepresented in the philosophical canon.
\nWe invite graduate student submissions of abstracts on the themes of the workshop. Abstracts should be around 500 words and prepared for anonymous review and submitted via email by May 31st\, 2020. Submissions should be made to winphil@purdue.edu. We encourage submissions \;from members of \;underrepresented groups in philosophy. Participants will be notified of decisions by June 14th\, 2020. For further details or inquiries\, please contact Alzbeta Hajkova at winphil@purdue.edu.
