Philosophical News: CFP No. 21 is now open. Topic: Peace
Deadline: September 1st\, 2020.
As a topic\, peace has received a good amount of attention throughout the history of philosophy. Starting with Plato and Aristotle&rsquo\;s reflections about the just government\, issues of war and peace have taken center stage within all discussions concerning the &ldquo\;right&rdquo\; way to organize the community. Even though this thread of discussion has been central within the discipline known as political philosophy\, it is impossible to deny its intimate connection with philosophical reflections about morality and even ontology &ndash\; to take just one example\, consider the resurgence of interest in the origin of the community and the respective &ldquo\;immunization mechanisms&rdquo\;. On this basis\, we propose going back to analyzing the unavoidable link between subjectivity &ndash\; individual and social &ndash\; and the relational dimension\, which provides the very conditions that enable us to think about the genuine possibility of peace.
In accordance with the aims of the European Society for Moral Philosophy\, papers are requested on a variety of topics\, including historical\, dialectical\, and practical approaches to the subject. Suitable topics may include:
Scientific Editors: Dora E. Garcí\;a Gonzá\;lez\, Andrea Onofri\, Stefano Santasilia.
Format: All papers must be formatted according to the guidelines (http://www.moralphilosophy.eu/official-publication/guidelines/)
Submission: All proposed papers must be submitted in electronic form (PDF format) to the Editor of this CFP. For further information as well as the submission of the paper\, please contact Stefano Santasilia\, at santasilia@gmail.com.
