DESCRIPTION:<p>The Kent State University Graduate Department is pleased to announce its 27th Annual Philosophy Graduate Student Conference in Remembrance of May 4th\, 1970. The conference will take place virtually on March 20\, 2021.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;We are excited to have Dr. Sherri Irvin (University of Oklahoma) as our keynote speaker this year.</p>\n<p>Reading length of paper should not exceed thirty minutes\, and papers should not exceed 3000 words. Submissions\, including a 150 word abstract\, should be prepared for blind review. To submit\, please refer to the website.</p>\n<p>Papers on any philosophical topic are welcome\, but for this year\, special preference will be given to papers engaging with topics related to &ldquo\;Art &amp\; Civil Rights Movements.&rdquo\;&nbsp\; Topics may include but are not limited to\, philosophy of art\, aesthetics\, civil disobedience\, social/political philosophy\, social justice\, and critical theory. The conference will be held remotely\, on a virtual platform\, by the Kent State University Philosophy Department and is open to the public.
