DESCRIPTION:
WOEMP "Race in Dialogue"--Continuing the Conversations&nbsp\;
\n
How can we as scholars and academics act as antiracist allies helping to foster real\, systemic change within our fields of study? What can we really do&mdash\;as mere teachers\, students\, researchers\, and individual academics&mdash\;within our local environments and spheres of influence to foster real change? &nbsp\;
\n
The&nbsp\;Western Ontario Early Modern Philosophy Research Group&nbsp\;would like to continue the conversations occurring within the&nbsp\;Newberry Library&rsquo\;s &ldquo\;Race in Dialogue&rdquo\; seminar series&nbsp\;this year and direct them toward these questions about effective allyship in our local academic environments. And we&rsquo\;d like to invite you to join us for an informal\, honest and open conversation about antiracist allyship at Western as occasioned by the Newberry dialogues.&nbsp\;
\n
As a Newberry consortium member\, all Western people are eligible to participant in these Newberry online sessions (registration here). We will be meeting via Zoom (ID # 952 5606 7593\; Passcode &ldquo\;Antiracism&rdquo\;)&nbsp\;&nbsp\;a few hours after the seminars\, 20:00 Eastern\, for extended conversation about the day&rsquo\;s seminar and its application to us as allies at Western. Please join us!&nbsp\;
\n
The first session is Friday Nov 13.&nbsp\;
\n
\n
Newberry Seminar\, 13:00 Eastern (Registration)\, Kim F.
