DESCRIPTION:<p>CELEBRATING &Eacute\;MILIE DU CH&Acirc\;TELET&rsquo\;S BIRTHDAY</p>\n<p><strong>CELEBRATION | 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM MEZ| CENTER FOR THE HISTORY OF WOMEN PHILOSOPHERS AND SCIENTISTS (directed by Ruth Hagengruber)</strong></p>\n<p>&Eacute\;milie du Ch&acirc\;telet&rsquo\;s Birthday Party</p>\n<p>The Center for the History of Women Philosophers and Scientists is inviting Project Vox to celebrate &Eacute\;milie du Ch&acirc\;telet&rsquo\;s 314th&nbsp\;Birthday &ndash\; Come and join us!</p>\n<p>Andrew Janiak is joining us online from Duke University and will present his new work exploring the philosophical originality of Du Ch&acirc\;telet&rsquo\;s &ldquo\;Institutions&rdquo\;. Andrew Janiak is Professor of Philosophy at Duke University. He is the co-leader of Project Vox &ndash\; a project aimed at highlighting the work of Early Modern Women Philosophers. He is currently working on a multi-year project on &Eacute\;milie Du Ch&acirc\;telet&rsquo\;s philosophy and 18th century Newtonian thought in France\, together with Prof. Karen Detlefsen (Penn).</p>\n<p>Clara Carus (HWPS) will be giving a talk on the Principle of Contradiction in Du Ch&acirc\;telet.
