DESCRIPTION:<p>The Traveling Early Modern Philosophy Organization (TEMPO) is now accepting submissions for our June 18-19\, 2021 conference to be held entirely online. Details\, programs from past iterations\, and other information can be found at http://tempo-conference.net</p>\n<p>We welcome papers on any aspect of Modern philosophy\, roughly understood as the period from Montaigne through Mill.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>Submissions on British philosophy after Hume are particularly encouraged.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>Keynote:</p>\n<p>Andre C. Willis (Religious Studies\, Brown University) and Emily Kelahan (Illinois Wesleyan) will give the keynote presentation\, entitled &ldquo\;Hume\, History and Monuments.&rdquo\;</p>\n<p>Panels:</p>\n<p><em>Jane Austen\, Philosopher</em></p>\n<p>Tim Black (CSU Northridge) and Lauren Kopajtic (Fordham University)\, organizers\, with Margaret Watkins (St. Vincent College)</p>\n<p><em>Race &amp\; Slavery in Early Modern Philosophy</em></p>\n<p>Dwight K. Lewis (organizer\, University of Central Florida)\, Justin E.H. Smith (University of Paris)</p>\n<p>We would also like to assemble a panel of papers treating either Hume&rsquo\;s relationship to rationalism (epistemic or moral) or the ancients (skeptical or stoic).</p>\n<p>Please prepare 300-500 word abstracts for anonymous review and submit them through Easy Chair at http://tempo-conference.net/submit. Papers should be suitable for a 25 minute presentation\, followed by 30 minutes of Q&amp\;A.</p>\n<p>The deadline for submissions is March 1st\, 2021.
