The Center for Research and Studies of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon and the Nucleus of Research in Painting and Education of the Federal University of Uberlandia are jointly organizing a two-day international Colloquium on Creative Processes in Art.
\nThe aim of this event is to provide an interdisciplinary platform to the discussion of artistic creative processes. By bringing together artists\, art educators\, philosophers and art theorists\, we intend to trace a comprehensive overview of this theme and\, therefore\, we are inviting submissions focusing on\, \;but \;not \;limited \;to\, the following four headings:
\n1- Aesthetics and Philosophy of Art
\nPossible topics: Conceptions of creativity\; Feeling\, emotion and imagination\; The specificity of artistic creativity\; Non-western perspectives on creativity\; Ethical limits of creative expression\; Divergent thinking and creative ideation\; The possibility of invention\; The rationality of creativity.
\n2- Artistic Practice
\nPossible topics: The creative process in painting\, sculpture\, music\, dance\, performance\, multimedia\, theatre\, literature\, cinema\, architecture and design\; From the brainstorming to the materialized idea &ndash\; stages of the creative process\; The balance between creative spontaneity and the procedural dimension of creation\; Decision making in the artistic process\; Tradition and innovation\; Transdisciplinarity\; Improvisation\; Experimental techniques\; Group creativity in collaborative artistic practices.
\n3- Artistic Education
\nPossible topics: Creativity training and adequacy of curricula in art schools\; Teaching talent\; Creativity and cognition\; Rhetoric and methodologies of creativity within arts education\; Inclusive views of creativity\; The relevance of an interdisciplinary art education program\; Creative inductors\; The art teacher as an intercessor and inspiration\; Redefining ways of seeing in order to improve creative representation\; Creativity and skill.
\n4- Science and creativity
\nPossible topics: Explaining creativity - the neuroscience approach\; Artistic creativity and psychological health\; Creativity assessment and creativity tests\; Artificial intelligence and artificial creative reasoning\; Unpredictability\, creativity and the theories of chaos\; Computer-based systems that support creativity.
\nWorking languages are Portuguese\, Spanish and English.
