DESCRIPTION:
Topic: Quantum Philosophy?
\n
Abstract:
\n
I have been reflecting on the extent philosophy contributes the current development of sciences\, in particular to the so-called hard sciences. Should philosophers take a descriptive approach\, try to offer a normative contribution to scientists\,&nbsp\; else? This kind of questions lead me to a new one: to what extent can philosophy introject the novelty of recent scientific developments? There are examples of how this happens\, for instance in the case of psychology/neurosciences and philosophy of mind: but what about the hard sciences? I will offer some reflections\, using the case of quantum mechanics and the philosophy of Karen Barad.
\n
Zoom Invitation:
\n
Topic: Francesca Vidotto Philosophical Briefing "Quantum Philosophy?"
\n
Time: Mar 19\, 2021 02:00 PM Eastern Time (US and Canada)
\n
Join Zoom Meeting
\n
https://westernuniversity.zoom.us/j/97019082371?pwd=NFFuQXZVVU0zQ2U1OVpoWHcvc0x3dz09
\n
Meeting ID: 970 1908 2371
\n
Passcode: philosophy
\n
One tap mobile
\n
+16475580588\,\,97019082371#\,\,\,\,*7360747702# Canada
\n
Dial by your location
\n
&nbsp\; &nbsp\; &nbsp\; &nbsp\; +1 647 558 0588 Canada
\n
Meeting ID: 970 1908 2371
\n
Passcode: 7360747702
\n
Find your local number: https://westernuniversity.zoom.us/u/ad2yfHJnFf
\n
Join by SIP
\n
97019082371@zoomcrc.com
\n
Join by H.323
\n
162.255.37.11 (US West)
\n
162.255.36.11 (US East)
\n
69.174.57.160 (Canada Toronto)
\n
65.39.152.160 (Canada Vancouver)
\n
Meeting ID: 970 1908 2371
\n
Passcode: 7360747702
