DESCRIPTION:<p>The Symposium of Aristotelian Studies was created to consolidate the tradition of Aristotelian studies of the Post-Gradute Programa Logic and Metaphysics (PPGLM/UFRJ). Our intention is for the Symposium to become a perennial activity spanning all through the academic year where our students and colleagues will be able to meet with some of the best specialists in Aristotle&rsquo\;s thought.</p>\n<p>Roberto Grasso is a professor of Ancient Philosophy at the Federal University of Para&iacute\;ba (UFPB).&nbsp\;He got his bachelors in Philosophy at Universit&agrave\; della Calabria and both his Masters and PhD at the University of Edinburgh. He joined UFPB after a post-doctoral research project funded by FAPESP at UNICAMP (2016) and at the University of T&uuml\;bingen (visiting\, 2018-2019).</p>\n<p>Professor Grasso is the author of several book chapters and four recent papers (mainly on Aristotle) that have appeared in <em>Revista</em> <em>Dissertatio</em>\, <em>Journal of Ancient Philosophy</em>\, <em>Apeiron</em> and <em>The Classical Quarterly</em>.</p>\n<p>His current research focuses on Aristotle&rsquo\;s psychology and theory of perception.</p>\n<p>Please note that the start time of the lecture is 14hs BRT (UTC&minus\;03:00).</p>
