The conference is organized by the University of Wroclaw\, KPSW\, CBIFK (Poland) and St. Petersburg State University (Russia). The working language of the conference is English.&nbsp\;
\n
The purpose of the conference is to discuss topical issues of cultural transformation in the context of developing ways of communication\, which are the product of the modern information society. The target audience includes researchers of trends in the development of various aspects of the culture of modern society\, university professors\, employees of research organizations\, graduate students and students.&nbsp\;
\n\n
In 2021\, the main topic&nbsp\;of the conference is&nbsp\;"Thought and Image".&nbsp\;
\n
The problem of relation between thoughts and images is one of the most difficult to deal with in the history of thought and in the modern scientific disciplines. It concerns one of the most important and nodal areas of human activity\, the relationship between the processes of imagination and thinking\, understanding and action\, perception and ideas\, orientation in the environment and impact on it. If contemporary culture is becoming more and more a visual culture\, the closer to the understanding of the image\, imaging and imageries becomes all the more important in an attempt to define changes in social reality\, the role of an individual in these changes and their impact on it. The relations between thinking\, language\, concept and the image were understood very differently - from the refutation of the meaning of the image\, the critique of the role of figurative forms in cognitive acts in favor of the domination of meanings grasped in concepts\, to noticing the inalienable potential and matrixing of the image for all cognition and human being in the world in general. Nowadays\, visual and verbal codes are seen in their autonomy\, but also in their interaction\, the overlapping of activities of various modules of the human mind in the processes of orientation in the environment and influencing it. The image is therefore crucial for the operation of memory\, imagination\, creating autobiographical memory\, cultural memory as records of experiences\, it influences thinking and it creates certain forms of thinking. It was researched both in philosophy itself and in many other disciplines - psychology (coding of experiences)\, ethnology\, anthropology (culture-forming activity)\, sociology\, social philosophy (visual sociology\, the role of social imaginaries).
\n\n
It is proposed to participate in the discussion of the following main thematic areas:
\n\n
\n
The problem of figurative\, pictorial and symbolic thinking
\n
The problem of &ldquo\;the savage mind&rdquo\; (La pens&eacute\;e sauvage)\, mythical (Das Mythische Denken)\, &ldquo\;primal (&ldquo\;pre-logical&rdquo\;)&rdquo\; mind / &ldquo\;mentality&rdquo\; (La Mentalit&eacute\; prelogique)\, imaging mind\; narrative logos and argumentative logos
\n
History of research into the concept of an image\; definitions\, methods\, approaches. Philosophical sources of the iconic turn.
\n
Auxiliary\, intermediary\, a priori images\, images of memory\, utopian and surreal images
\n
Mapping memory and distortion of memory\; imagination of the creative process and reproductive imagination\; image and memory\; image and imagination
\n
Image as an "observation instrument"\, image and photography\, the role of metaphor in the creative process\, metaphor in science\, models and schemes
\n
Social\, ethical and political imaginaries
\n
Thinking and creative process in literature and art
\n
The role of images and symbols in social and internet communication as well
\n
\n\n
In addition to the main topic\, the conference program includes the following areas of research:
\n
\n
Culture in the Modern World
\n
Problems of Cultural Development in Philosophical Interpretation
\n
Aesthetics of new media
\n
Cross-Cultural communication
\n
Modern Methods and Approaches in Cultural Studies
\n
Modern Art Object and Communication
\n
The Life World in the New Paradigm of Communications
\n
Globalization / Anti-globalization Processes and the Networked World
\n
National Reservations and Policy Asymmetry
\n
Terrorism and Territory
\n
\n\n
If you want to participate in the conference\, please sign in and submit your application on the website:
\n
https://easychair.org/my/conference?conf=mcc2021
\n\n
Applications for participation&nbsp\;with presentations (submission of title and abstract of the report) are submitted until&nbsp\;April 25\, 2021.
\n\n
Participants of the conference are required to attend the conference personally\, participation in absentia is not permitted.
\n
&nbsp\;
\n\n
For publication on the results of participation in the conference accepted scientific papers in English language\, not previously published and not submitted for consideration at other conferences\, journals and other publications.
