DESCRIPTION:<p>The Faculty of Law and the Department of Politics and Public Administration of the University of Hong Kong are pleased to announce their first joint&nbsp\;postgraduate&nbsp\;conference&nbsp\;in&nbsp\;Legal&nbsp\;and&nbsp\;Political&nbsp\;Theory\, to take place via Zoom on May 5\, 6\, and 7&nbsp\;2021&nbsp\;(16:00&mdash\;19:30 HKT/SGT or 9:00&mdash\;12:30 BST) tentatively.</p>\n<p>The theme of this year&rsquo\;s&nbsp\;conference&nbsp\;is Global Justice.</p>\n<p>The&nbsp\;conference&nbsp\;aims to give graduate students and academics from a range of fields\, working on topics related to the&nbsp\;conference&nbsp\;theme\, the opportunity to present and discuss their works and to receive feedback from their peers and from our distinguished keynote speakers:</p>\n<p>Jonathan Wolff (University of Oxford)<br>Chandran Kukathas (Singapore Management University)<br>Kieran Oberman (University of Edinburgh)</p>\n<p>We particularly welcome abstract submissions from scholars in philosophy\,&nbsp\;political&nbsp\;theory\, international relations&nbsp\;theory\, and&nbsp\;legal&nbsp\;theory.<br>Topics for discussion could include\, but are not limited to:</p>\n<p>&bull\; Migration ethics<br>&bull\; The ethics of violence<br>&bull\; Distributive\, transitional\, and intergenerational justice<br>&bull\; Environmental ethics<br>&bull\; Cosmopolitanism and nationalism<br>&bull\; Human rights<br>&bull\; Globalisation<br>&bull\; Liberalism and authoritarianism</p>\n<p>Abstracts should be around 500 words\, and speakers should be prepared to deliver a paper presentation of around 20 minutes. The deadline for abstract submissions is 31st March&nbsp\;2021\, with speakers being informed of the outcome approximately three weeks from that date.</p>\n<p>If you wish to apply\, please submit an anonymized abstract with the paper&rsquo\;s title to&nbsp\;globaljusticeconference@gmail.com&nbsp\;for blind review\, with &lsquo\;Application to&nbsp\;Legal&nbsp\;and&nbsp\;Political&nbsp\;Theory&nbsp\;Conference&rsquo\; as the subject line.
