UNED-Madrid.</p>\n<p>http://www.uned.es/dpto_log</a></p>\n<p>The topic of the workshop targets the commonalities and differences of mechanisms and mechanistic approaches in the social and biological sciences\, as part of an ongoing project funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation (MECABIOSOC:FFI2017-89639-P). In particular\, the meeting&rsquo\;s focus is on the integration of mechanisms in the biological and social scientific disciplines. Questions to be addressed include\, but are not limited to:</p>\n\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>The integration of insights from biology and social sciences.</p>\n</li>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>How does mechanism-based integration work?</p>\n</li>\n<li>\n<p>How are conflicts among diverse perspectives addressed in mechanism-based frameworks?</p>\n</li>\n<li>\n<p>Can multilevel mechanical models account for the diverse aspects / complexity of diseases (e.g.\, depression)?</p>\n</li>\n</ul>\n</ul>\n\n<p>&middot\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; &nbsp\; &nbsp\; &nbsp\;&nbsp\;Mechanisms and interdisciplinarity.</p>\n<p>o&nbsp\; &nbsp\;&nbsp\;How can mechanism-based approaches contribute to the development of interdisciplinary fields (e.g.\, neuroeconomics)?</p>\n<p>o&nbsp\; &nbsp\;&nbsp\;How do mechanism-based biology and mechanism-based social science relate? (collaboration\, imperialism\, etc.)</p>\n\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>Traveling of mechanism-based developments.&nbsp\;</p>\n</li>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>Can mechanism-based developments in the biomedical sciences (e.g.\, EBM+) be applied in social science and policy making? And vice versa?</p>\n</li>\n<li>\n<p>What developments can be transported? To what extent does diversity of mechanisms undermine that transportation?</p>\n</li>\n</ul>\n</ul>\n\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>Thinking about mechanisms across the sciences.</p>\n</li>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>Which aspects are shared by mechanisms across the sciences?
