DESCRIPTION:<p>Call for papers:</p>\n<p><strong>Philosophy\nof Biology in the UK</strong></p>\n<p>The first in a new series of annual conferences\,\naiming to bring together UK researchers whose work intersects philosophy and\nbiology.</p>\n<p>This will be a\ntwo day conference with participants from across the UK. The format for the conference will be four or five invited talks by keynote speakers\, interspersed with shorter talks from academics and\ngraduate students whose abstracts are accepted by a committee of referees. The conference is open access\,\nbut papers will only be accepted on the topic of philosophy of biology.</p>\n<p>The purpose of the conference is to\nbring together UK researchers whose work is\nat the intersection of philosophy and biology. In particular we mean to give an\nopportunity to as many graduate students as possible to participate\, to present\ntheir work\, and to engage with other researchers in their field. Philosophy of\nbiology is a growing field in this country and this conference will serve to\ncelebrate and nurture that growth. The All Souls Conference is intended as the\ninaugural meeting of a new annual series of conferences for UK Philosophers of\nBiology\, which will take place at different locations around the country in\nyears to come.</p>\n<p><strong>17th&amp\;\n18th April 2012 </strong></p>\n<p>in the Old Library at <strong>All Souls College\, Oxford.</strong></p>\n<p>Confirmed speakers:\nPaul Griffiths (University of Sydney)\, Samir Okasha (University of Bristol)\,\nTim Lewens (University of Cambridge)\, Nick Shea (University of Oxford)\, John\nDupre (University of Exeter)</p>\n<p>Please send&nbsp\; a 200\nword abstract of a paper on any topic in philosophy of biology\, to <a href="mailto:ellen.clarke@all-souls.ox.ac.uk">ellen.clarke@all-souls.ox.ac.uk</a></p>\n<p>Graduate submissions\nare especially welcome.</p>\n<p>Places are limited.</p>\n<p><strong>Deadline\nfor submissions: 27th January 2012</strong></p>\n<p>The invitation to\nregister will follow soon.
