DESCRIPTION:<p>What is there to be understood and done when it is evident that the search for justice\, which dominates social and political philosophy of the North\, is an insufficient approach for the achievements of dignity\, freedom\, liberation\, and revolution? Join eminent scholar Lewis R. Gordon\, an Afro-Jewish philosopher\, social and political activist\, critic\, and musician\, for a discussion about his most recent book\,&nbsp\;<em>Freedom\, Justice\, and Decolonization</em>&nbsp\;(Routledge\, 2021). NYU Liberal Studies professors&nbsp\;Tal Correm&nbsp\;and&nbsp\;Brendan Hogan&nbsp\;will moderate the conversation.</p>\n<p>This event is open to both NYU and non-NYU attendees\, and is co-sponsored by the Liberal Studies Dean&rsquo\;s Office (NYU)\, Liberal Studies Global Works and Society curricular area (NYU)\, Liberal Studies DEI Committee\, and the Office of Global Inclusion\, Diversity\, and Strategic Innovation (NYU).</p>
