DESCRIPTION:
Gilles Deleuze is one of the most important philosophers of the 20th century and his thought is characterized by seeking a renewal of philosophy through dialogue with science and art. Film is of particular importance in Deleuze's philosophy of art. In his books on cinema\, he refers to the interference of various creative practices\, including philosophy which invents and creates concepts. Thereby Deleuze defines film explicitly as a "new practice of images and signs" and projects a zone where film can become a new means of philosophical expression.&nbsp\;Conversely\, Deleuze's thinking\, its methods and worldwide reception have gained international importance for artistic researchers: artistic research intertwines discursive and non-discursive processes and outputs. The symposium aims to use Deleuze's thinking of interference as a starting point for reflection on artistic research in film and philosophy. We want to focus in particular on the role of philosophical thinking as a creative practice and method of artistic research\, as well as on film as a form of doing philosophy.
\n
Please register&nbsp\;until 14th&nbsp\;of April&nbsp\;to&nbsp\;receive the program\, screening links and access codes (after the registration has closed).
\n

SCHEDULE: 23rd&nbsp\;of April\,&nbsp\;1-9pm&nbsp\;CET &nbsp\; * including&nbsp\;SpatialChat&nbsp\;lounge meetings for participants *
\n
SPEAKERS:
\n
\n
Dr. Paula Albuquerque (University Amsterdam&nbsp\;/ Gerrit Rietveld Academy)&nbsp\;
\n
Dr. William Brown (Roehampton University London)
\n
Dr. Martin Jehle (Philipps-University Marburg)
\n
&nbsp\;Prof. Dr. Hyun Kang Kim (University of Applied Sciences D&uuml\;sseldorf)
\n
&middot\;Prof. Dr.&nbsp\;Michaela Ott (HFBK University for Fine Arts Hamburg)
\n
Jun.-Prof. Dr. Christine Reeh-Peters (Filmuniversity Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF)
\n
Alisi Telengut\, PhD Candidate (Filmuniversity&nbsp\;Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF)
\n
&nbsp\;Dr.&nbsp\;Susana Viegas\, (New University Lisbon)
\n
