Moran Professor of the History of Early Christianity at the Catholic University of America in Washington\, DC. An expert in Patristics and the early Christian world\, she is the author\, most recently\, of <a href="https://www.bloomsbury.com/us/on-compassion-healing-suffering-and-the-purpose-of-the-emotional-life-9781501344527/"><em>Reading Augustine: On Compassion\, Healing\, Suffering and the Purpose of the Emotional Life</em></a>(Reading Augustine\, Bloomsbury Academic\, 2020) and <em>Passion and Compassion in Early Christianity</em> (Cambridge\, 2016).</p>
