DESCRIPTION:<p>Klaus Corcilius began his studies of philosophy and Greek in the universities of Hamburg and Dublin (1996 to 2001). After that he completed a doctorate at the Humboldt University in Berlin (2001 to 2006)\, where he worked as a research assistant at the Humboldt University in Berlin (2005-2006)\, and then went on to work as an assistant professor for ancient philosophy at the University of Hamburg (2009-2011) and as an Associate Professor of Philosophy in University of California at Berkeley (2011-2016) before&nbsp\; joining the University of T&uuml\;bingen (2016-*).</p>\n<p>Professor Corcilius is the author of three books &ndash\;&nbsp\;<em>Streben und Bewegen. Aristoteles&rsquo\; Theorie der animalischen Ortsbewegung</em>&nbsp\;(2008)\,&nbsp\;<em>Aristoteles</em>.&nbsp\;<em>De anima</em>.&nbsp\;Einf&uuml\;hrung\, griechischer Text von Aurelius F&ouml\;rster (2017) and&nbsp\;<em>Aristoteles</em>.&nbsp\;<em>De motu animalium</em>&nbsp\;(2018\, with Oliver Primavesi) &ndash\;\, as well as of several book chapters and several papers mainly on Aristotle and Plato that have appeared in&nbsp\;<em>Archiv f&uuml\;r Geschichte der Philosophie</em>\,&nbsp\;<em>Logical Analysis and History of Philosophy</em>\,&nbsp\;<em>Oxford Studies in Ancient Philosophy</em>&nbsp\;and&nbsp\;<em>Phronesis</em>.</p>\n<p>His current research focuses on issues in Aristotle&rsquo\;s and Plato&rsquo\;s theories of cognition and biology.</p>\n<p>Please note that the hour of the lecture is on BRT time.</p>
