Klaus Corcilius began his studies of philosophy and Greek in the universities of Hamburg and Dublin (1996 to 2001). After that he completed a doctorate at the Humboldt University in Berlin (2001 to 2006)\, where he worked as a research assistant at the Humboldt University in Berlin (2005-2006)\, and then went on to work as an assistant professor for ancient philosophy at the University of Hamburg (2009-2011) and as an Associate Professor of Philosophy in University of California at Berkeley (2011-2016) before \; joining the University of Tü\;bingen (2016-*).

Professor Corcilius is the author of three books &ndash\; \;Streben und Bewegen. Aristoteles&rsquo\; Theorie der animalischen Ortsbewegung \;(2008)\, \;Aristoteles. \;De anima. \;Einfü\;hrung\, griechischer Text von Aurelius Fö\;rster (2017) and \;Aristoteles. \;De motu animalium \;(2018\, with Oliver Primavesi) &ndash\;\, as well as of several book chapters and several papers mainly on Aristotle and Plato that have appeared in \;Archiv fü\;r Geschichte der Philosophie\, \;Logical Analysis and History of Philosophy\, \;Oxford Studies in Ancient Philosophy \;and \;Phronesis.

His current research focuses on issues in Aristotle&rsquo\;s and Plato&rsquo\;s theories of cognition and biology.
