2021 is an important year for Wittgenstein&rsquo\;s scholars: in fact\, it marks the hundredth anniversary of the publication of the \;Tractatus\, as well as the 70th \;anniversary of the philosopher&rsquo\;s death. His work\, his biography\, his kaleidoscopic personality deeply resonates with Austrian culture which\, precisely in the period of the author&rsquo\;s life\, has outlined some of the most significant cultural features of our time. The conference aims at intercepting and making sense of the convergence between Wittgenstein and Viennoise &ldquo\;apocalypse joyeuse.&rdquo\; Austria is a country that\, more than any other in Europe\, at the turn of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries promoted the most disparate avant-gardes in many fields of knowledge&mdash\;from literature to physics\, from psychology to music\, from visual arts to theater\, from architecture to philosophy. Wittgenstein is undoubtedly to be counted among the few who not only have fully understood\, but who have been able to take a voice in this happy Babel of knowledge\, promoting its multifaceted development.

\nIl 2021 è\; un anno importante per gli studiosi di Wittgenstein: ricorre infatti il centesimo anniversario della pubblicazione del \;Tractatus\, nonché\; i 70 anni dalla morte del filosofo. La sua opera\, la sua vicenda biografica\, la sua caleidoscopica personalità\; entrano profondamente in risonanza con la cultura austriaca che\, proprio nel periodo di vita dell&rsquo\;autore\, ha tracciato alcune tra le più\; significative linee culturali della contemporaneità\;. Il convegno si propone di intercettare e fornire un senso alle convergenze tra Wittgenstein e l&rsquo\;Austria dell&rsquo\;«\;apocalypse joyeuse»\;\, un Paese che\, più\; di ogni altro in Europa\, a cavallo tra il XIX e il XX secolo è\; stato ricettore e promotore delle più\; disparate avanguardie in moltissimi campi del sapere &ndash\; dalla letteratura alla fisica\, dalla psicologia alla musica\, dalle arti visive al teatro\, dall&rsquo\;architettura alla filosofia. Wittgenstein è\; senza dubbio da annoverare tra i pochi che non soltanto hanno compreso a fondo\, ma che hanno saputo prendere voce in questa felice Babele di saperi\, promuovendone lo sviluppo poliedrico.
