On Wednesday March 13th 2013\, the York Humanities Research Centre at the \;University of York will be hosting a one-day conference focusing on the \;relationship between post-Kantianism and Critical Theory. While Critical \;Theory is often seen as fundamentally a combination of Hegelian thought with \;Marxist concerns\, there is perhaps still more left to be learnt from how \;Critical Theorists often draw quite deeply on certain trends in post-Kantian \;thought\, and comparatively neglected post-Kantians like Schelling\, Fichte\, \;et al. The conference is intended to provide an opportunity to examine some \;of the inheritances from post-Kantianism by the main proponents of Critical \;Theory. The potential for mounting criticisms of Critical Theorists by \;drawing on these post-Kantian thinkers will also be explored.
