DESCRIPTION:<p><strong>UCLA Law and Philosophy Graduate Conference</strong></p>\n<p>Saturday\, April 13\, 2013</p>\n<p>School of Law\, University of California\, Los Angeles\, Room 1420</p>\n<p><strong>Keynote Speaker:</strong></p>\n<p>To Be Announced</p>\n<p><strong><em>Updated submission deadline: Friday\, March 15\, 2013</em></strong></p>\n<p>The School of Law and the Department of Philosophy at UCLA are holding a graduate student conference on law and philosophy on April 13\, 2013. The aim of this conference is to bring together graduate students\, law students\, and UCLA faculty members to discuss issues that arise at the intersection of law and philosophy.&nbsp\; Lunch will be served.</p>\n<p>Law students\, graduate students\, and recent law school graduates are invited to submit papers on law and philosophy\, broadly construed.&nbsp\; Please submit an essay of approximately 4000 words\, prepared for blind review.&nbsp\; Submissions should be sent by email in doc\, docx\, pdf\, or rtf format to <a href="mailto:UCLALawandPhilosophyConference@gmail.com">UCLALawandPhilosophyConference@gmail.com</a> by March 15\, 2013. In a separate cover letter\, authors should provide their name\, the title of their paper\, their institutional affiliation\, and contact information. We aim to send notifications of decisions by March 18\, 2013 at the latest.</p>\n<p>Prospective conference participants should also note that Professor Jeremy Waldron (NYU and Oxford) will deliver the third Herbert Morris Lecture in Law and Philosophy\, entitled &ldquo\;What Do Philosophers Have Against Dignity?&rdquo\; on Friday\, April 12\, 2013 at the UCLA School of Law. The lecture is from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm in Room 1357. It will be followed by a reception from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm.&nbsp\; Participants who wish to hear Professor Waldron&rsquo\;s lecture should plan their travel accordingly.</p>\n<p>Prospective participants may contact the organizing committee at <a href="mailto:UCLALawandPhilosophyConference@gmail.com">UCLALawandPhilosophyConference@gmail.com</a>\, and we will happily answer any questions about the conference.
