OLSON\nKeynote Speaker</p>\n<p><strong>&nbsp\;</strong></p>\n<p><strong>Conference Aims and Topics</strong></p>\n<p>The conference is to provide a platform for an interdisciplinary \ndiscussion of the interrelations between culture\, cognition and \ncommunication\, with special attention to the cultural and cognitive \nroles of the media. Anthropologists\, communication studies researchers\, \nsociologists\, psychologists\, philosophers and cognitive scientists are \nencouraged to challenge ideas concerning the cognitive and cultural \nfunctions of communication\, language and media &ndash\; thereby building upon \nthe work of such scholars as Innis\, McLuhan\, Goody\, Havelock\, Ong and \nOlson.
