DESCRIPTION:<p>Date: April 8th &amp\; 9th\, 2022</p>\n<p>Keynote: Dr. Shelly Kagan (Yale University)\, Friday\, April 8th\, 3:30-5:00 pm CDT Submission deadline: February 1st\, 2022</p>\n<p>Submissions should be sent to uigpsconference@gmail.com</p>\n<p>Paper length: maximum 3\,000 words (excluding bibliography &amp\; footnotes)</p>\n<p>Abstract length: maximum 200 words</p>\n<p>Update (1/24): Due to uncertainties surrounding COVID-19\, the conference will be fully virtual\, hosted over Zoom.</p>\n<p>The keynote will be Friday afternoon\, with all accepted papers being presented Saturday\, April 9th.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>Papers on any topic of interest in philosophy are welcome. Submissions should be prepared for blind review and formatted as either .doc\, .docx\, or .pdf.&nbsp\; Include two documents.&nbsp\; (1) The paper.&nbsp\; (2) A title page with the paper's title\, abstract\, author's name\, pronouns\, email address\, and institutional affiliation.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>Notifications of acceptance will be sent out the first week of March.</p>\n<p>Accepted paper presentations will be 25 minutes long\, with a 10 minute commentary presented by an Iowa graduate student. Presenters will then have 5 minutes to respond\, followed by a 15-minute question period.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>Inquiries about the conference can be sent to the same address as submissions.</p>\n<p>Our department has a MAP (Minorities and Philosophy) chapter. As such\, we especially encourage submissions from members of groups underrepresented in the philosophy profession including\, but not limited to: people of color\, women\, queer and gender non-conforming people\, people from economically disadvantaged groups\, and people with disabilities. The conference venue is fully wheelchair accessible.&nbsp\; Individuals in need of visual or auditory accommodations are encouraged to attend\; both in-person and Zoom presentations will be made accessible provided adequate notice.</p>
