DESCRIPTION:
It is my great pleasure to announce that a conference dedicated to the Free Energy Principle will take place on the&nbsp\;17th February 2022\,&nbsp\;at the Berlin School of Mind and Brain\, Humboldt Universitat zu Berlin -- although taking place online -- titled "The Free Energy Principle: Science\, Tech and Philosophy".
An interesting fact is that\, although the Free Energy Principle had been published&nbsp\;before\, the first time that the Free Energy Principle was presented to the world&nbsp\;was at the Berlin School of Mind and Brain. Years after this\, we want to continue&nbsp\;to play our small role. The&nbsp\;Berlin&nbsp\;School of Mind and Brain is renowned for its&nbsp\;emphasis on an encouraging&nbsp\;interdisciplinarity&nbsp\;focusing&nbsp\;on the interface between the humanities and behavioural sciences with the neurosciences. This conference brings philosophers and scientists to think together and share ideas and engage in&nbsp\;constructive&nbsp\;discussion about the free energy principle in this&nbsp\;welcoming\,&nbsp\;interdisciplinary&nbsp\;environment. &nbsp\;
\n
Speakers&nbsp\;
\n
Karl Friston (University College London)
\n
Alexander Tchantz (University of Sussex)
\n
Anthony Chemero (University of Cincinatti)
\n
Beren Millidge (University of Oxford)
\n
Casper Hesp (University of Amsterdam)
\n
Chistopher Buckely (University of Sussex)
\n
Conor Heins (Max Planck Institute for Animal Behaviour)
\n
Jelle Bruineberg (Macquire University)
\n
&nbsp\;Joe Dewhurst (Munich University)
\n
Julian Kiverstein (University of Amsterdam)
\n
Krzysztof Dolega (Ruhr University Bochum)
\n
Manuel Baltieri (Araya Inc.)
\n
Mark Miller (Hokkaido University)
\n
Matteo Colombo (Tilburg University)
\n
Mel Andrews (University of Cincinnati)
\n
Michael Anderson (Western University)
\n
Miguel Aguilera (University of Sussex)
\n
Noor Sajid (University College London)
\n
Ryan Smith (Laureate Institute for Brain Research)
\n
Thomas van Es (Antwerp University)
\n
Thomas Parr (University College London)
\n
Vicente Raja (Western University)
\n
The scientific committee is constituted by:
\n
Prof. Karl Friston (Welcome Principal Research Fellow and Scientific Director\; Wellcome Trust Centre for Neuroimaging\; Professor at the Institute of Neurology\, University College London\; Honorary Consultant at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery)
\n
Prof. Cathy Price (Director of the Wellcome Trust Centre for Neuroimaging\, University College London).
\n
Prof. John Dylan-Haynes (Director of Berlin Center for Advanced Neuroimaging\; Professor at the Bernstein Center for Computational Neuroscience\, Charit&eacute\; - Universit&auml\;tsmedizin Berlin)
\n
Prof. Petra Ritter (Director of the Simulation Section\, Berlin School of Mind and Brain\, Humboldt Universitat zu Berlin)
\n
Prof. Michael Pauen (Institute of Philosophy\; PI Berlin School of Mind and Brain\,&nbsp\;Humboldt Universitat zu Berlin\;&nbsp\;PI Cluster of Excellence Science of Intelligence\; Fellow at the Max Planck School of Cognition\; PI and member of the Scientific Board of the Einstein for Neurosciences) Prof.
\n
Dr. med.
