DESCRIPTION:<p>Hosted&nbsp\;by&nbsp\;the&nbsp\;Philosophy&nbsp\;Club&nbsp\;and&nbsp\;Philosophy&nbsp\;Area&nbsp\;at&nbsp\;LaGuardia&nbsp\;Community&nbsp\;College.</p>\n<p>Keynote&nbsp\;speaker&nbsp\;Jaysankar&nbsp\;Lal&nbsp\;Shaw\,&nbsp\;from&nbsp\;the&nbsp\;Victoria&nbsp\;University&nbsp\;of&nbsp\;Wellington\,&nbsp\;New&nbsp\;Zealand\,&nbsp\;will&nbsp\;talkabout&nbsp\;distinctive&nbsp\;features&nbsp\;of&nbsp\;Indian&nbsp\;Philosophy.&nbsp\;Papers in any area of philosophy are welcome as long as the primary author is an undergraduate. Papers should be suitable for 15-20 minute presentations.</p>\n\n<p>Additionally\,&nbsp\;this&nbsp\;year&nbsp\;poster&nbsp\;presentations&nbsp\;will be&nbsp\;included&nbsp\;in&nbsp\;theconference.&nbsp\;Undergraduate&nbsp\;students&nbsp\;from any college&nbsp\;are&nbsp\;invited&nbsp\;tosubmit&nbsp\;proposals&nbsp\;for&nbsp\;a&nbsp\;poster&nbsp\;board&nbsp\;presentation&nbsp\;which&nbsp\;examines&nbsp\;theintersection&nbsp\;of&nbsp\;philosophy&nbsp\;with&nbsp\;any&nbsp\;other&nbsp\;discipline.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;A final 200 word abstract of the presentation must be submitted prior to the date of the conference in order to be included within 2013 issue of&nbsp\;<em>The</em>&nbsp\;<em>Gadfly.</em>Some&nbsp\;poster&nbsp\;boards&nbsp\;may&nbsp\;be&nbsp\;available&nbsp\;so&nbsp\;students&nbsp\;do&nbsp\;not&nbsp\;need&nbsp\;topurchase&nbsp\;their&nbsp\;own.&nbsp\;Students&nbsp\;will&nbsp\;be&nbsp\;provided&nbsp\;space&nbsp\;and&nbsp\;time&nbsp\;todisplay&nbsp\;their&nbsp\;poster&nbsp\;boards&nbsp\;during&nbsp\;the&nbsp\;day&nbsp\;of&nbsp\;the&nbsp\;conference.</p>\n\n<p>Papers and poster presentations connected with Asian philosophy are encouraged\, but all papers and poster boards are welcome.</p>\n\n<p>Selected papers and poster presentation abstracts from the conference will appear in&nbsp\;<em>The Gadfly</em>\, a publication of the philosophy club\, available both in print and online (http://www.laguardia.edu/philosophy/gadfly/</a>).
