DESCRIPTION:
With the Academy Edition&rsquo\;s publication of Kant&rsquo\;s lectures on anthropology (1997) and on physical geography (2009\, forthcoming)\, the role of Kant&rsquo\;s lecturing activity has been drawing more and more deserved attention. Some of Kant&rsquo\;s lectures on logic\, metaphysics\, anthropology\, and pedagogy have been translated into English and other languages\, and several important studies have appeared. However\, a great deal remains to be discussed. How does Kant&rsquo\;s teaching shed light on his philosophy and its development? We will examine Kant&rsquo\;s courses on metaphysics\, logic\, anthropology\, geography\, pedagogy (etc.)\, and their relations to his pre-critical and critical philosophy. We have an exciting group of speakers lined up.
\n
Friday\, May 3rd: Room M 201\, Hauptgeb&auml\;ude\, LMU

15:00 Welcome and Introduction: Robert Clewis (Gwynedd-Mercy College)

15:15-16:10 Steve Naragon (Manchester University)

Reading Kant in Herder&rsquo\;s&nbsp\;Notes

16:10-17:05 Reinhard Brandt (Philipps-Universit&auml\;t Marburg)

17:05-17:15 Break (10 minutes)

17:15-18:10 G&uuml\;nter Z&ouml\;ller (Ludwig-Maximilians-Universit&auml\;t M&uuml\;nchen)

&bdquo\; (O)hne Hofnung und Furcht&ldquo\;.
