The importance of science for guiding policy decisions has been a central feature of policy-making for much of the past century. \;But which science we have available to us and what counts as adequate science for policy-making shapes substantially the specific impact science has on policy decisions. \;Values play a central role in these areas\, as values shape the research agendas scientists pursue\, the range of plausible alternative explanations discussed for phenomena of concern\, and what counts as sufficient warrant in any given case. \;Policy\, too\, shapes which science we pursue and often can have inadvertent directive effects on what we ultimately claim to know\, and thus what is seen as an adequate basis for policy-making. \;In this workshop\, we will explore the relationships among science\, policy\, and values\, with an eye towards both describing the ways in which science\, policy\, and values influence each other and putting forth guidance for how they should influence each other.
