DESCRIPTION:<p>Humanists in Conversation on Conspiracy is an interdisciplinary humanities conference designed to bring together different perspectives on belief in conspiracy theories\, the possibility of rational belief in conspiracy theories\, misinformation and more in a two-day\, hybrid event online and at the University of Rochester. This event is designed to be accessible to the public.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>The conference will consist of four to six talks selected on the basis of submitted abstracts\, and one keynote address. Our keynote speaker will be from Dr. Kathryn Olmsted\, Professor of History at the University of California-Davis.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>We invite submissions from any area of philosophy or other humanities disciplines that&nbsp\; engage with the theme of belief in conspiracy theories\, and issues surrounding conspiracy theories and misinformation\, broadly construed.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>Submission deadline: March 7\, 2022&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>Submission guidelines: Abstracts should be 300-500 words\, anonymized\, and suitable for a 20-25 minute presentation for a general audience. Each talk will be followed by a Q&amp\;A.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>Please submit (i) your anonymized abstract (the name of the file should be the title of your paper)\, and (ii) a cover letter including your name\, discipline\, institutional affiliation\,&nbsp\; email address to humanistsinconversation@gmail.com by March 1\, 2022\, or via EasyChair at the following link:&nbsp\;https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=hcc2022</p>\n<p>Authors of accepted abstracts will be notified by March 15\, 2022.&nbsp\; Please feel free to contact conference organizer Kelley Annesley at kannesle AT ur DOT rochester DOT edu with any questions.&nbsp\;</p>
