DESCRIPTION:<p><strong>4th CEPPA Graduate Conference (Online)</strong></p>\n<p><strong>May 27-28\, 2022 in St Andrews</strong></p>\n<p>The Centre for Ethics\, Philosophy\, and Public Affairs (CEPPA) is now accepting submissions for the 4rd Annual St Andrews CEPPA Graduate Conference at the University of St Andrews.&nbsp\; The submissions should broadly fit into CEPPA's scope -&nbsp\;ethics\, moral\, political and applied social philosophy\, in particular it's current projects:</p>\n<p>&middot\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Effective Altruism</p>\n<p>&middot\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; The Future of Work and Income</p>\n<p>&middot\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Exoplanet Ethics</p>\n<p>&middot\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Knowledge\, Democracy\, and Public Discourse</p>\n<p>&middot\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Virtue and Character</p>\n<p>&middot\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Human Rights</p>\n<p>&middot\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Blame and Responsibility</p>\n<p>&middot\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Philosophy and Education</p>\n<p>We are delighted to host the following keynote speakers:</p>\n<p><strong>Jonathan Quong (University of Southern California)</strong></p>\n<p>Jonathan Quong is associate professor of philosophy at the University of Southern California. His areas of research are political liberalism\, public reason\, democracy\, distributive justice\, and the morality of defensive harm. He is the author of <em>Liberalism Without Perfection</em> (OUP\, 2011) and <em>The Morality of Defensive Force</em> (OUP\, 2020).</p>\n<p><strong>Charlotte Unruh (Technical University of Munich)</strong></p>\n<p>Charlotte Unruh is postdoctoral researcher at the Chair of International Relations\, Technical University of Munich\, and a researcher at the TUM Institute for Ethics in AI. Her research focuses on the ethics of future generations\, the philosophy of harm\, and the ethics of artificial intelligence.</p>\n<p><strong>Susan E. Notess (Durham Univerisity)</strong></p>\n<p>Susan E. Notess is a Research Associate working in Curriculum Design with the Institute for Medical Humanities at Durham University. She researches on listening in clinical encounters as a fellow of the Institute for Medical Humanities at Durham\, and on discourses around live organ donation as a postdoctoral fellow of the Society for Applied Philosophy.</p>\n<p><strong>&nbsp\;</strong></p>\n<p>If you wish to apply\, please submit an abstract of not more than 1000 words (excluding references). The abstract should be in PDF form\, be prepared for blind review and have the world count included. It should be sent to ceppaconference@st-andrews.ac.uk</p>\n<p>&nbsp\;by<strong> 31st of March\, 2022.</strong> Papers should be suitable for a presentation of approximately 30 minutes.</p>\n<p>We welcome submissions from postgraduate students at any stage in their studies and encourage submissions from members of underrepresented groups in particular. If you identify as a member of an underrepresented group\, feel free to include this information in the email (not in the PDF).</p>\n<p>All accepted papers will receive comments during the conference from faculty and postgraduate students at the St Andrews and Stirling Graduate Program in Philosophy (SASP).
