DESCRIPTION:<p>The goal of the reading workshop "Is the philosophy of science a socially engaged discipline?" is twofold.</p>\n<p>First\, we will consider questions such as: what is the role of values in scientific research\; what is the scope of scientific freedom and should scientific freedom have any limits\; can science exist without democracy\; are all scientists experts\, and so forth.</p>\n<p>Second\, we will consider whether a philosophy of science that answers these questions could be considered as a socially engaged philosophical discipline.</p>\n<p>The workshop will take place during April\, May\, and June. It will be held online\, in English. Participation is possible for all interested.</p>\n<p>The application deadline is March 31.</p>\n<p>More details about the workshop and how to apply here:</p>
