DESCRIPTION:
The first annual conference of the newly formed Philosophy of Language Association will take place online on June 9 and 10\, 2022. The goal of the conference\, and of the association\, is to provide a venue for philosophers of language to discuss new work in all areas of the field. Ultimately\, we hope that each annual meeting (which we hope will be held in person in future years) will provide a reasonably comprehensive snapshot of the research being done in philosophy of language that year.
\n
The Zoom link will be distributed via email. Please write to pla.conf.2022@gmail.com by June 7 to receive the link.
\n

\n
Schedule
\n
June 9 (London time (BST = UTC +01:00))

15:00&ndash\;16:00: Daniel Rothschild: Two notions of subject matter
Berlin: 16:00\, NY: 10:00\, Madison: 9:00\, SF: 7:00

16:10&ndash\;17:10: Cameron Domenico Kirk-Giannini: Quotation for Dummies
Berlin: 17:10\, NY: 11:10\, Madison: 10:10\, SF: 8:10

17:20&ndash\;18:20: Rebecca Harrison: How to unintentionally do things with words&nbsp\; Berlin: 18:20\, NY: 12:20\, Madison: 11:20\, SF: 9:20

18:30&ndash\;19:30: Tom Wysocki: Underdeterministic Counterfactuals
Berlin: 19:30\, NY: 13:30\, Madison: 12:30\, SF: 10:30

June 10 (London time (BST = UTC +01:00))

15:00&ndash\;16:00: Richard Booth: The Samaritan Paradox&nbsp\;
Berlin: 16:00\, NY: 10:00\, Madison: 9:00\, SF: 7:00

16:10&ndash\;17:10: Karen Lewis: Imagined Audiences and Common Ground
Berlin: 17:10\, NY: 11:10\, Madison: 10:10\, SF: 8:10

17:20&ndash\;18:20: John Mackay: Counterparts and Discrimination
Berlin: 18:20\, NY: 12:20\, Madison: 11:20\, SF: 9:20

18:30&ndash\;19:30: Janice Dowell: Silencing and Assertion: An Account of their Conversational Dynamics
Berlin: 19:30\, NY: 13:30\, Madison: 12:30\, SF: 10:30

Timezones:
Berlin: CEST = UTC +02:00
London: BST = UTC +01:00
New York: EDT = UTC -04:00
Madison: CDT = UTC -05:00
San Francisco: PDT = UTC -07:00
