The aim of the conference is to explore the semantics and pragmatics of the word &lsquo\;true&rsquo\; in natural language. Central topics of discussion will include whether or not &lsquo\;true&rsquo\; is ambiguous\, context sensitive\, vague\, gradable\, presuppositional\, or lacking content altogether. Other relevant topics will include what sort of property or concept &lsquo\;true&rsquo\; expresses\, connections between natural language &lsquo\;true&rsquo\; and the semantic paradoxes\, and syntactic properties of &lsquo\;true&rsquo\;. \;

Call for abstracts:

We would like to invite the submission of abstracts for several further talks on the conference&rsquo\;s themes. Talks might address the topics described above\, but those related to broader aspects of the use or role of &lsquo\;true&rsquo\; in natural language will also be welcome. Anonymised abstracts no longer than 2 pages should be submitted by May 22nd. Please send abstracts as pdf attachments to Poppy Mankowitz (poppy.mankowitz@bristol.ac.uk). \;
