DESCRIPTION:<p>The UMass Amherst Philosophy Department will host a conference in honor of Eileen O&rsquo\;Neill (1953&ndash\;2017). This conference will take place in-person on April 28&ndash\;30\, 2023 in Amherst\, MA. There will be two keynote speakers: Marcy Lascano and Christia Mercer. In addition\, there will be four submitted papers by early-career scholars with commentaries by senior scholars. All papers will be on topics related to Eileen O&rsquo\;Neill&rsquo\;s work\, which includes early modern women philosophers\, early modern debates about causation (especially occasionalism)\, and the mind-body problem.</p>\n<p>The schedule is attached.
