Workshop: Equality of Opportunity in Higher Education

When: 25th-26th April 2014

Where: Glasgow University, Department of Philosophy

There has recently been lively political discussion about the value of equal
opportunity in higher education, especially concerning Scotland’s rejection
of tuition fees as a model for funding universities, but also including
questions about differences in access to elite higher education for students

together academics from several disciplines to examine competing ideals of

current system might be improve.
This is the first of a three workshop series on Responsibility and the
Welfare State, supported by the Royal Society of Edinburgh.
