Papers on any philosophical topic are welcome. All presented papers will also be published in the Society’s journal, Southwest Philosophy Review.

 

Submissions: Electronic submissionsare required and should be sent to [email protected]. Papers must be in MS Word (.doc) or Rich Text Format (.rtf). Papers submitted in any other format cannot be processed.  Papers may not exceed 3000 words in length (not including notes and references). Submissions should include a word count and a 150 word abstract (not counted in total word count) on the title page. Papers exceeding this length will not be considered.

Papers should not contain any information identifying the author of the submission. In a separate title page document, please submit the following: title of the paper, abstract of the paper, author’s name, institutional affiliation, email address and phone number. The Society gives an annual award of $100 to the best paper written by a graduate student or recent Ph.D. (degree must have been granted within three years of the meeting). Authors who are eligible for the prize should indicate this on the cover page of their submissions.

Submission deadline: Papers must be received by Friday, 17 July 2015.

2015 Conference Hotel: Holiday Inn Nashville Vanderbilt (four blocks from the Vanderbilt campus). Conference rate for rooms is $147 plus taxes. Reservations can be made via the Hotel reservations department at 1-877-327-4707.  To receive contract rates, attendees should identify their group as Southwest Philosophical Society.  All reservations should be made by Tuesday, October 6, 2015.
