Details

The 6th Annual Conference of Arizona Bioethics Network takes place on April 1, 2016 at Doubletree Inn Tempe.  This year’s theme—Enhancing Communication: Healthcare Professionals, Patients, Families—allows us to examine communication amongst healthcare teams, and between team members and patients and their families.

In the era of team-based care, the quality of patient care depends on health care teams sharing knowledge and maintaining a free flow of information. This free flow of information is an important process to increase collaboration amongst clinicians, their patients, and families. What are some of the barriers to maintaining the free flow of information and shared knowledge? What are the ethical implications for patient care if communications are ineffective? Can we learn to communicate when there are special circumstances in patients and families? How can communication amongst healthcare professionals be enhanced? How can communication be enhanced between healthcare professionals and their patients and families?
