Details

Those interested in philosophy outside the academy as well as questions of justice and future generations might be interested in this event.

Green House's 'Guardians for Future Generations' report, authored by Rupert Read, Reader in Philosophy at UEA, was launched earlier this year at Parliament.  The proposal attracted some interest (see: http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/damian-carrington-blog/2012/jan/04/climate-politics-future-generation-justice?). A mock version of a ‘super-jury’ of guardians of the future will convene at a free event on April 25th, at 6.15pm, at King’s Place in London, in the Scott Room.

Also speaking alongside Rupert Read will be Polly Higgins, on her proposal to make the prevention of ecocide part of international law. And the Hungarian Ombudsman for Future Generations, Sandor Fulop, will join in via Skype to discuss both proposals.

All are welcome, refreshments (food and drink) will be available for free, and admission is free too. To be sure of a place RSVP [email protected].
