CALL FOR PAPERS

THE BEATIFIC VISION

Guest editors

David Efird (University of York)

& David Worsley (University of York)

‘Final and perfect happiness can consist in nothing else than the vision of the Divine Essence’ or so argues Aquinas (ST I.II:3:8). This issue of TheoLogica seeks contributions that provide philosophical or theological perspectives on the beatific vision. We are particularly interested in papers that focus on how we might understand the nature of this vision of God, but we are also interested in how more familiar topics in philosophy of religion might relate to the doctrine. For instance, how the doctrine of the beatific vision might relate to our understanding of: divine ineffability, divine love, union with God, operative and cooperative grace, heavenly impeccability, divine hiddenness, primal and original sin, the problem of evil, and the doctrine of atonement.

Contributions from a variety of religious traditions are welcome.

Deadline for submissions: August 31st, 2017

Full papers should be submitted via our website: http://revistatheologica.com or sent to: [email protected]. In order to contribute equally to scientific international discussions held in several languages, articles written in English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish are accepted.

Yours sincerely,

David Efird

David Worsley
