Details

The APA Committee on the Teaching of Philosophy and the American Association of Philosophy Teachers will host a panel on teaching the intellectual virtues at the Teaching Hub at the 2018 Pacific Division Meeting of the APA, March 28-April 1, in San Diego. We envision three to four different presentations on teachers’ curricula, course assignments, and classroom strategies for cultivating intellectual virtues in their students. Consistent with the ethos of the APA CTP and the AAPT, we expect presentations to be short, perhaps 20 minutes, to allow for a rich discussion among panelists and participants as to how the intellectual virtues might be cultivated.

The APA/AAPT Teaching Hub is a set of sessions about teaching philosophy held at various divisional meetings of the APA, emphasizing inclusive and collegial interactions. The Teaching Hub coordinates conversations about the teaching of philosophy at all levels, pre-college through graduate school. For more information about the Teaching Hub at the 2018 Pacific Division Meeting, contact Mark Jensen, [email protected].
