The KPA invites the submission of abstracts for workshops on teaching philosophy at the high school, undergraduate and/or graduate level. We invite faculty, graduate students, and independent scholars to share in the opportunity to present and discuss their current work on philosophy pedagogy. Some preferred topics are: issues relevant to teaching in Kentucky and surrounding states; teaching a diverse student body (religious, gender, racial, ethnic, international, physical disabilities, learning disabilities); teaching philosophy using interdisciplinary methods; online/distance learning or hybrid/flipped classroom styles/strategies.
Abstracts should be 200 words or less. Each participant will have 60 minutes for their workshop.
Please email submissions to Eva Cadavid at [email protected] with the subject line “KPA 2018 workshop abstract”. The submission deadline is June 15, 2018. Please include in the email the following information:
1. Title of the workshop
2. 150-word abstract (attached as a pdf)
3. Author's name
4. Author's institutional affiliation (if applicable)
5. Author's email address
6. Indication whether campus housing will be necessary
Registration fee for the workshop is $25 and covers continental breakfast, lunch, and a mid-afternoon snack.
