When, why and how should individual opinions be aggregated? There has been a host of recent developments in formal research on opinion pooling and in conceptual analysis of collective agency and collective opinion. The primary aim of this workshop is to take stock and build on that recent research in order to get a better understanding of which kind of aggregation procedures are desirable in which kind of contexts.

This is the first workshop of the Collective Attitude Formation [ColAForm] project funded by the ANR-DFG, and in association with the DRI Seminar of the IHPST Paris.

Speakers:

Maya Ackerman (Santa Clara Univesity)

Thomas Boyer-Kassem (Université Grenoble Alpes)

Kenny Easwaran (Texas A&M University)

Stefan Herzog (Max Planck Institute for Human Development)

Cyrille Imbert (Archives Poincaré)

Dominik Klein (Universität Bayreuth)

Soroush Rafiee Rad (Universität Bayreuth)
