We are living in an increasing technologized world, challenging us as human beings.

The 8th PHEADE International Conference (PHEADE 2019 - CCT), under the theme “Cultural Challenges of Technology” is an interdisciplinary event exploring the cultural challenges and mutations of homo technologicus.

We invite philosophers, science and technology studies researchers, cultural studies researchers, social and economic sciences researchers, humanities researchers and other scholars investigating the culture-technology/technologies relationship forstate-of-the-art research papers.

The submissions are expected but not limited by the following topics:

1.     Interfaces/interactions of culture/values and technology/technologies

2. Conjunctive/disjunctive perspectives/attitudes towards technology/technologies

3.     Key concepts of the technoculture/digital culture

4.     Real life phenomena/metaphors in science and technology/technologies studies (STS)

5.     Wisdom and ignorance in science and technology/technologies studies (STS)

6.     Challenges of the digital cultural heritage preservation

7.     Science and technology/technologies through semiotic lenses

8.     Values in digital humanities and digital learning

9.     Perspectives on science and technology/technologies in literary work(s)

10. Securing/threatening the future of humanity through technology/technologies

11.  Technology/technologies as theology/theologies?

12.  Challenges of the research ethics and academic ethics in a digital world

The publication is foreseen at the end of 2019 or the beginning of 2020.

One special issue, with selected papers, will be published in an ISI, ERIH+, EBSCO, SCOPUS indexed journal.

A Proceedings book, with selected papers, will be published by an international printing house.

The language of publication will be English.

The recommended size for an article is from 4000 to up to 5000 words.

The registration fee is 25 euros or equivalent.
