Submission deadline: August 30, 2019

KISS and Philosophy

Courtland Lewis (editor)

Abstracts are sought for a collection of philosophical essays related to the “Hottest Band in the World, KISS!” This volume will be published by Open Court Publishing (the publisher of The Simpsons and PhilosophyThe Matrix and Philosophy, Rush and PhilosophyThe Rolling Stones and PhilosophyPink Floyd and Philosophy, and Doctor Who and Philosophy). I am seeking abstracts, but anyone who has already written an unpublished paper on this topic may submit it in its entirety. Potential contributors may want to examine other Open Court titles to get a sense of how the essays should be pitched (this book will be directed at educated laypersons, and not directed specifically at academics).

Contributors are welcome to submit abstracts on any topic of philosophical interest that pertains to KISS.  Every chapter should be philosophical in nature, explaining some philosophical theme that appears in or is exemplified by KISS. I am especially interested in receiving submissions that engage philosophical issues/topics/concepts pertaining to KISS in creative and non-standard ways. KISS is fun and exciting, and the chapters should be too. Be creative and insightful!

Please feel free to forward this to anyone writing within a philosophic discipline who might be interested in contributing, or to anyone who might be interested in providing a deep analysis of KISS.

Contributor Guidelines:

1. Abstract of paper (100–750 words)

2. Resume/CV for each author/coauthor of the paper
