We welcome submissions addressing any aspect of teaching ethics across the curriculum, but have a special interest in those that focus on ethical issues addressing race and justice in America. Possible topic areas include social justice (e.g., criminal justice reform, mass incarceration, immigration, environmental racism), politics and activism (e.g., district redlining, drug war, Black Lives Matter, reparations for slavery), professional responsibility (e.g., representations in the media, the meaning of #oscarsowhite, classroom dynamics), and affirmative action within education and academia.
Submissions may include full papers or abstracts (no more than 250 words). Session formats will include papers, panels, case study analysis and discussion, and pedagogical demonstrations.
Presentations are typically 20-25 minutes in length, allowing for 5-10 minutes Q&A. Submissions are to be formatted for blind review and submitted by August 30, 2019 via EasyChair2019 (https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=seac21). We will accept only one submission per participant to ensure we have room for as many participants as possible.
