CALL FOR PAPERS
This conference invites papers exploring the phenomenon of secularity, the so-called new atheism, and the attendant questions concerning philosophical accounts of rational belief and religious experience in what Charles Taylor has called a “disembedded age”.
The conference will target three main areas: (1) atheism and secularity, (2) the relation of political philosophy and the philosophy of religion, and (3) the phenomena of belief and religious experience.
Submissions are encouraged from contemporary continental and analytic approaches as well as the history of philosophy. Related figures may include, but are by no means limited to: Habermas, Plantinga, Marion, and Taylor, as well as signal figures from the history of philosophy.
Papers are to be prepared for blind review, and should not exceed 3500 words. Applicants may send their submissions to [email protected].
The deadline for submissions is January 15, 2013.
This is a student event (e.g. a graduate conference).
