Details

Vanderbilt University’s Minorities and Philosophy (MAP) chapter is accepting abstract submissions for a MAP panel session at the upcoming philoSOPHIA conference to be held at Vanderbilt University from May 14-17, 2020. We invite submissions from graduate students (both MA and PhD students) on topics dealing with issues relating to any area of interest to MAP, broadly construed. However, papers on topics related to one of the two conference workshop streams—“rethinking prisons” and “rethinking disability”—are especially welcome.

Please submit titled abstracts of 250-300 words, prepared for blind review. Please also submit a separate document listing your name, affiliation, department, and paper title. We especially encourage abstracts submitted by graduate students of under-represented groups in the field. Those submitting need not be in a philosophy department; submissions from African studies, cultural studies, diaspora studies, women/gender/sexuality studies, disability studies, ethnic studies, decolonial/postcolonial studies, and other related fields are welcome.

Please send materials to [email protected] with the subject heading “philoSOPHIA MAP submission.” Abstracts submitted by January 10th, 2020 will be given full consideration. Final decisions will be made by February 1st.
