Precollege Philosophy and Public Practice (P4) 


Open Call for Submissions


Precollege Philosophy and Public Practice (P4), an interdisciplinary, open-access, and peer-reviewed online journal for philosophical and/or empirical research on precollege philosophy and public philosophy, is accepting submissions. For consideration for publication in Volume 4, coming out in Spring 2022, the deadline for submissions is August 15, 2021. We highly encourage submissions at any time for consideration in other volumes.

Specific topics of interest include (but are not limited to):

  • Relationship between public philosophy, education, and pre-college philosophy 

  • Supporting and/or creative approaches to public and/or precollege philosophy programming

  • Interdisciplinary approaches to public and/or precollege philosophy 

  • Dialogue-based education, social justice, and diversity 

  • Comparative research on approaches to philosophy and dialogue-based education in K-12 classrooms, prisons, retirement communities, or community-based venues and organizations

  • Empirical research on impacts / outcomes of philosophy and dialogue-based education and/or outreach programs

P4 also welcomes book reviews, primarily for newly-published, stand-alone volumes on topics relevant to our areas of interest as listed.
