Call for Papers, Undergraduate Philosophy Research
Deadline: Dec. 17, 2021
STANCE: an international undergraduate philosophy journal is accepting original philosophical essays authored by current undergraduates. We welcome manuscripts between 1500 and 3500 words (footnotes may extend word limit by 500) concerning any philosophical topic. Please, only one submission per authors. Papers should avoid unnecessary technicality and strive to be accessible to the widest possible audience without sacrificing clarity or rigor.
Manuscripts are evaluated on the following criteria: depth of inquiry, quality of research/academic rigor, creativity, lucidity, struggle, significance, and, most importantly, originality. The last three – significance, struggle, and originality are most important. The journal is called Stance because we publish only work that contains original argumentation, work where an author takes a stand. Largely exegetical work, even excellent exegetical work, will not be accepted.
