DESCRIPTION:
Workshop &ldquo\;The Good Life: Well-being and Meaningfulness&rdquo\;
\n
Most people want their lives to go well. They also want their lives to be meaningful. While well-being and meaningfulness have both received extensive attention in the philosophical literature\, the relationship between them remains underexplored. This workshop will explore the concepts of well-being\, meaningfulness\, and their relationship\, discussing questions such as: Is a meaningful life always high in well-being\, and vice versa? Does the nature of meaningfulness depend on the nature of well-being? And does a good life require both well-being and meaningfulness?
\n
Speakers:
\n
Antti Kauppinen\, University of Helsinki
\n
Matthew Hammerton\, Singapore Management University
\n
Charlotte Unruh\, University of Southampton
\n
Michael Hauskeller\, University of Liverpool
\n
Willem van der Deijl-Kloeg\, Tilburg University
\n
Registration: The workshop is free to attend\, but spaces are limited and registration is required. To register\, please email the organiser\, stating whether you wish to attend in person or online.
\n
We gratefully acknowledge funding from the Leverhulme Trust (SRG2425\\251003).
