DESCRIPTION:<p>Concerned Philosophers for Peace (CPP) is pleased to announce a call for abstracts for our group session(s) at the American Philosophical Association&rsquo\;s Central Division Conference in <strong>Denver\, CO</strong> on <strong>February 24&ndash\;27\, 2027</strong>. We welcome any submission related to the CPP&rsquo\;s mission of analyzing the causes of violence and prospects for peace. We are\, however\, especially interested in papers that deal with:</p>\n<p><strong>Ideals and ethics of protest</strong></p>\n<p>We are interested in papers that address any aspect of the ideals and ethics of protests\, including critiques of dominant narratives about protests/protesters. Possible topics include but are not limited to:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>The ethics of property damage as a means of protest</li>\n<li>The ethics of encampments</li>\n<li>The relationship between pacifism and nonviolent protest</li>\n<li>What counts as political violence and the ethics of political violence&nbsp\;</li>\n<li>Analysis of cultural narratives about protests/protesters&nbsp\;</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Please submit an abstract of no more than <strong>500 words</strong> (prepared for blind review) along with a CV to Charles Freiberg at&nbsp\;<a href="mailto:charles.freiberg@ucf.edu">charles.freiberg@ucf.edu</a>. Please write &ldquo\;<strong>APA 2027 submission</strong>&rdquo\; in the subject line. Submissions are due by <strong>September 1\, 2026</strong>.
